The Chidester Fire Department will be hosting a Political Rally on April 8th in downtown Chidester. We'll be grilling burgers and many of the local and state politicians will be in attendance to visit with the audience and speak. We'll start at 5:00p.m. and speaking will begin at 6:00p.m. Please make plans to attend!

Construction has begun on our new station! We’ll be posting pictures as the project continues. It’s been a long hard road but things are starting to come together for our much needed new central station.

With the support of the CVFD Firefighters and the City of Chidester the Chidester Vol. Fire Department was able to acquire a 1991 E-One Pumper. The truck will be a great addition to the department!

The Chidester FD Announces Apparatus Upgrades:
Thanks to the hard work of the CFD Volunteers we have been able to upgrade our 1978 International Tanker to a refurbished in 1999 AM General 6x6. The vehicle brings the benefit of a diesel engine and automatic transmission.
The CFD adds a 1985 Grumman Pumper to its fleet. With assistance from the City of Gravette Arkansas the city was able to purchase this pumper to serve the citizens of the City of Chidester.

The Chidester Stagecoach Festival and Political Rally will be April 10th in Downtown Chidester. Events kick off at 9:00A.M. The fire department will be grilling burgers and hot dogs. Come see us!

The Chidester Fire Department was awarded a Fire Act Grant for 2009. The department is currently outfitting all firefighters with a complete new set of structural and wild land turnout gear. Twelve new SCBA units, an AED, and some nozzles and loose tems were also purchased.
